Gefahrenmanagement

Report dangerous situation

Immediately report any dangerous situations that come to your attention in the context of and on the campus of Leuphana University of Lüneburg to the emergency services of the police and fire brigade/rescue service via the known telephone numbers 110 and 112. Then pass on your danger information to the crisis management team for dangerous situations at the university via the emergency telephone number (04131) 677 4444. A notification of an existing dangerous situation is urgently required if there is concern for life and limb of persons, a notification to the crisis management team is advisable if the event relates to the campus of Leuphana and thus lies within the scope of action of the crisis management team. For a better assessment of a dangerous situation, the following categories of danger can be mentioned as examples: Threat to persons, fire, necessary site or building evacuation, leakage of hazardous substances, danger due to environmental influences, danger of explosion.

Please bear in mind that deliberate misuse of the crisis unit's telephone number can lead to restrictions on actual dangerous situations and thus to a lack of help in an emergency. Any such misuse will be followed up.

An overview of the university's first aiders, including their contact details and location in the buildings, can be found on the emergency notice boards in the university buildings.

When making a hazard declaration, stay as calm as possible and start from the following questions

  •  Where did it happen? Place of the event.
  •  What happened? Nature of the incident.
  •  Who reports the incident? Name and telephone number of the reporting person.
  •  When did it happen? Time of the incident.
  •  How many are affected? People at risk or injured.

Be ready to answer any further questions.

Universities are free and openly accessible meeting places where many and often very different people come together. When people interact with each other, negative dynamics cannot be ruled out, which can be dealt with sensibly in general and in acute cases with the help of a sensitised approach to dangerous situations. It is Leuphana University Lüneburg's fundamental aim to provide its university members with the greatest possible security, to avoid violence, to actively prevent conflicts and, in acute threatening situations, to ensure the quickest and best possible clarification, building on a living culture of "looking and sharing".
