Maternity and parental leave

Before the joyful event, there are still many things to clarify. You will find all the important information on pregnancy below. The notes provide information on the legal status on 01.07.2022. It is expressly pointed out that the notes contain summary information on the relevant legal provisions and cannot replace the study of these legal provisions. They do not contain information on all detailed questions and do not take into account any individual particularities. general information

Employees are legally entitled to maternity protection in accordance with the Maternity Protection Act (MuSchG). As soon as a pregnancy occurs, please inform your superiors on the one hand, and on the other hand, please always also inform the Human Resources department as described below.

Process

  1. Report Pregnancy: As soon as you become pregnant, please submit a copy from your maternity record to the Human Resources Department indicating when your expected delivery date is. Please add your name to this copy as it is not noted on the appropriate page.
  2. Perform Risk Assessment: fter notification of pregnancy, Leuphana University of Lüneburg must immediately carry out a risk assessment in order to identify any risks to the expectant mother and child, and to take remedial action or rule them out. Please complete the "Pregnancy Risk Assessment", have it confirmed by your supervisor, and send the document to the Occupational Safety Specialist, Mr. Jörg Seeba (joerg.seeba@leuphana.de).
