The complementary studies programme at Leuphana College offers Bachelor students a wide range of interdisciplinary courses from the second semester onwards. These are offered in 12 different modules. These modules result from a matrix that distinguishes between four scientific perspectives and three didactic approaches.

The four perspectives are based on academic fields as well as the interdisciplinary approach of the university:
- Social science perspective
- Humanities perspective
- Natural science perspective
- Inter- and transdisciplinary perspective

Within each perspective, a further distinction is made between three different approaches, which illustrate how scientific work is primarily carried out in the respective courses:
- Method-oriented
- Practice-oriented
- Mediality-oriented

Students can select one course from each module. Each module must be completed with an examination worth 5 CP and can only be taken once.

Annex 8 on complementary studies is legally binding and contains the subject-specific curriculum.

    • The complementary studies can be taken from the 2nd semester onwards.
