Pregnancy and maternity protection

There are still many things to clarify before the happy event. You will find all the important information about pregnancy below. The notes and information are of a general nature. If you have any detailed questions, please contact your colleagues in the Human Resources department directly. We would like to support you and ensure you have a pleasant time.

General information

Employees are legally entitled to maternity protection in accordance with the Maternity Protection Act (MuSchG). As soon as you become pregnant, please inform both your line manager and the Human Resources department as described below.

Process

  1. Report pregnancy: As soon as you are pregnant, please submit a copy of your maternity pass to the Human Resources Department, stating when the expected date of delivery is. Please add your name to this copy, as this is not noted on the relevant page.
  2. Carry out a risk assessment: After notification of the pregnancy, Leuphana University of Lüneburg must immediately carry out a risk assessment in order to identify any risks for the expectant mother and child and to take remedial action or rule them out. Please complete the "Pregnancy risk assessment", have it confirmed by your supervisor and send the document to the occupational safety specialist Mr. Jörg Seeba (joerg.seeba@leuphana.de).
