Student Marketing & Recruitment

Students shape our university - but how do they actually find their way to us? The aim of student marketing/recruitment is to provide prospective students with user-friendly and high-quality information. The aim is to enable students to make the best possible study decisions. This increases satisfaction with the degree programme and reduces dropout rates.

In order to achieve this goal, a wide range of measures are necessary, which are carried out by an inter-school team: From analyses to campaigns to website maintenance (a more detailed overview of our services can be found further down on this page). It is particularly important to tailor our messages to the different target groups: Are they interested in a Bachelor's, Master's or part-time degree programme? Which study programme are they interested in? Are they international students? In addition, the media usage behaviour of prospective students, which is in a dynamic process of change, must be taken into account. Conventional one-way communication is no longer promising.

Basically, it is necessary to meet both qualitative and quantitative requirements. On the one hand, the university measures its own success primarily by the improved quality of applications (average number of A-levels, acceptance rate, supraregional appeal, internationalisation, scholarship holders, etc.). On the other hand, however, it must generate at least an undiminished quantity of valid applications, otherwise its success is in question.
