Schwangerschaft und Mutterschutz

Before the joyful event, there are still many things to clarify. You will find all the important information on pregnancy below. The notes and information are of a general nature. If you have any detailed questions, please contact your colleagues in the Human Resources Department directly. We would like to accompany you and help you have a pleasant time.

General notes

All employees are legally entitled to maternity protection in accordance with the Maternity Protection Act (MuSchG). As soon as you are pregnant, please inform your superiors on the one hand and the Human Resources Department on the other hand as described below.

Process

  1. Indicate pregnancy: As soon as you are pregnant, please submit a copy of your maternity record to the Human Resources Department, stating the expected date of delivery. Please add your name to this copy, as it is not noted on the corresponding page.
  2. Carry out a risk assessment: After notification of pregnancy, Leuphana University of Lüneburg must immediately carry out a risk assessment in order to identify any risks for the expectant mother and child, and to take remedial action or rule them out. Please complete the "Pregnancy risk assessment", have it confirmed by your supervisor and send the document to the occupational safety specialist, Mr Jörg Seeba (joerg.seeba@leuphana.de).
