Salary

The salary of civil servants is made up of the basic salary, a job bonus and any family allowances to which they may be entitled.

General information

The monthly salary is paid in advance. Payment is made at the end of the month for the following month. The calculation and payment is carried out by the Lower Saxony State Office for Pay and Pensions (NLBV) Lüneburg. In order for the salary to be paid on time, the preparations for this must be completed by the middle of the previous month. As a rule, later changes can only be taken into account in the next payroll run.

Process

Once civil servants have been hired or other circumstances have changed, all payment-relevant data is forwarded to the NLBV Lüneburg as quickly as possible by the clerks in the Professorships/Civil Servants department.

After the final calculation of the salary, the NLBV Lüneburg prepares the payslips in paper form. Statements are only sent out in the event of new appointments or changes to salary payments. If there is no change in payment compared to the previous month, no statement is printed.

The NLBV Lüneburg clerks are available to answer any questions you may have on the subject of salaries. The contact details of the responsible contact persons can be found in the business distribution plan, which is currently linked under "Documents".
