Social Media

In accordance with the guidelines of the German Rectors' Conference on Web 2.0, Leuphana would like to actively shape the development towards networked individuality. Social media have long been an integral part of a successful communication strategy. However, Facebook, Instagram & Co. not only offer the opportunity to place messages within your target group. Social media are two-way channels and allow direct communication with your community. Users can network with each other, exchange messages and share them through their own channels.

If you want us to inform your target group with a post, please let us know. We will support you with the formulation of the text, the selection of images and the strategic placement as well as the maintenance of the community.

Social media channels and their target groups

  • Instagram stands for an aesthetic presentation of images and videos. At Leuphana, the platform is aimed in particular at students and prospective students of the College and the Graduate School.
  • Facebook is still one of the most used social media platforms worldwide. Leuphana uses Facebook to address both national and international prospective students.
  • XING is a platform for professional contacts and business networks, especially in German-speaking countries. A practical feature is "XING Events" - this allows you to book tickets and organise events without being a XING member.
  • The short message service Twitter offers a space for exchange between and networking of scientists on current (research) topics.
  • Linkedin is an international B2B platform. It appeals in particular to professionals and is aimed at alumni as well as students and those interested in the Professional School. In addition, cooperations can be promoted via Linkedin.

Leuphana is aware of its responsibility as a public educational institution on the social web. It reserves the right to delete disqualifying comments under posts and to block users whose behaviour does not correspond to Leuphana's values.
