The year 2020 is almost over. It is a special year. With the holidays and the turn of the year, it is customary that companies and persons with whom you have and have had dealings in the course of your work would like to thank you for your cooperation.
Unfortunately, in individual cases it is sometimes overlooked that the legal regulations for the public service leave only a very limited scope for accepting even small gifts. We are all subject to a ban on accepting gifts. There is a basic exception with a value limit of 10 €/year per donor, in which case a blanket approval is available. A short overview of the regulations is attached to this mail as well as the respective decree.

For the year 2020, a change in the state-wide guidelines for the prevention of corruption was actually announced. In the course of this reorganisation, the guidelines of the University of Lüneburg Foundation will then also be adapted. However, until the new directive is adopted, the old regulations will still apply.
