Drilling on campus

2022-08-15

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
Dear colleagues, dear teachers, dear students,

In preparation for the Campus Park, investigations into possible explosive ordnance hidden in the ground will be carried out on campus from the end of August. This will ensure that all areas affected by the subsequent construction work are free of explosive ordnance. These investigations are carried out as standard in preparation for construction measures. For this purpose, drillings are made at specific locations on campus. You can see their approximate location in this PDF. Each borehole will take between one and two hours to complete.

The boreholes will be drilled on 24, 25, 29 and 30 August 2022, each time between 08:00 and 16:00. The work will start in the east at building 14 and then continue towards the west.

During this time, there will be noise nuisance and restrictions in the roadway area. Although the roads will not be permanently closed, we cannot say exactly which borehole will be drilled at which time. This will be decided by the drilling supervisor on site. We therefore recommend that you park in one of the four large car parks.

If you have any questions, please send an e-mail to irmhild.brueggen@leuphana.de.

Thank you for your understanding.
