Bärbel Hitz ends her term of office as representative of severely disabled persons

Dear colleagues,

My term of office of more than 10 years as a representative of the severely disabled will end with the election of a new representative on 24 October 2022.

After a total of more than 30 years at the university and almost 40 years in public service, I will be taking a longer holiday from 30 September 2022 and then starting a new phase of my life as a pensioner from 1 January 2023. Again a new task, which I am very happy to take on.

My substitutes in office - Betina Vieth, Carmen Schneider and Florian Möller - will be available to you in October until a new representative is elected.

Since I cannot say goodbye to all of you in detail and do not want to have a farewell event, I choose this way to thank you all for a supportive, accommodating, constructive and always collegial cooperation. I wish you all good progress and successful developments in the tasks that you will encounter in your working life at Leuphana. But most of all, I wish you health, happiness and a good working relationship!
