Opening Week | TURNING POINTS

2022-10-06

Dear Colleagues, Dear Students,

This year, the political scientist Christian Welzel from the Leuphana School of Public Affairs will give the opening speech to kick off the Opening Week. From 6 to 14 October 2022, we will welcome around 1,300 first-semester students at Leuphana College - directly on campus.

TOPIC
The focus of this year's College Opening Week is the theme "TURNING POINTS". We invite first-semester students to venture an initial analysis of the multiple crisis phenomena in times of insecurity and warlike violence in Europe and to illuminate the potential for action in the present and the future. 28 project topics allow to gain insights into the big questions around war and peace, the future of democracy, artificial intelligence or social justice. You can find the programme of the Opening Week on our website:

UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY
We are particularly pleased that we were able to prepare this year's Opening Week together with the professors Boukje Cnossen, Poldi Kuhl, Daniel Lang and Tobias Lenz, who are acting as hosts for the Opening Week 2022.
